According to Simon that Jesus renamed “THE ROCK” i.e. “Peter” whom Jesus made the head of his apostles, we have this lengthy overview of salvation, the version Jesus, the Christ, brought;

1:1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

LET ME SUMMARISE WHAT THE OTHER TWO FOUNDATION MEMBERS SAID:

According to the junior brother of Jesus, the Christ, James, the 1st Bishop of Jerusalem in the very first chapter of his five epistles, verse 27; he states clearly:

 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

He had earlier on deposited in:

• 13 When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
• 14 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
• 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

You can not disregard his counsel in earlier verses relevant in our discussion:

• 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
• 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
• 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror
• 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
• 25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it-he will be blessed in what he does.
• 26 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.

According to John, the beloved apostle, what is keeping God’s Commandments?

2:3 Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.

2:4 The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.

2:5 But whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him.

2:6 The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.

2:7 Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have already heard.

2:8 On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

2:9 The one who says he is in the light but still hates his fellow Christian is still in the darkness.

2:10 The one who loves his fellow Christian resides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.

2:11 But the one who hates his fellow Christian is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

Mithraism, one of the major religions of the Roman Empire, the cult of Mithra, the ancient Persian god of light and wisdom. In the Avesta, the sacred Zoroastrian writings (seeZoroastrianism) of the ancient Persians, Mithra appears as the chief yazata (Avestan, “beneficent one”), or good spirit, and ruler of the world. He was supposed to have slain the divine bull, from whose dying body sprang all plants and animals beneficial to humanity. After the conquest of Assyria in the 7th century bc and of Babylonia in the 6th century bc, Mithra became the god of the sun, which was worshiped in his name (see Sun Worship). The Greeks of Asia Minor , by identifying Mithra with Helios, the Greek god of the sun, helped to spread the cult. It was brought to Rome about 68 bc by Cilician pirates whom the Roman general Pompey the Great had captured, and during the early empire it spread rapidly throughout Italy and the Roman provinces. It was a rival to Christianity in the Roman world.

Mithraism was similar to Christianity in many respects, for example, in the ideals of humility and brotherly love, baptism, the rite of communion, the use of holy water, the adoration of the shepherds at Mithra's birth, the adoption of Sundays and of December 25 (Mithra's birthday) as holy days, and the belief in the immortality of the soul, the last judgment, and the resurrection. Mithraism differed from Christianity in the exclusion of women from its ceremonies and in its willingness to compromise with polytheism. The similarities, however, made possible the easy conversion of its followers to Christian doctrine.

Historians are unsure exactly when Christians first began celebrating the Nativity of Christ. However, most scholars believe that Christmas originated in the 4th century as a Christian substitute for pagan celebrations of the winter solstice. Before the introduction of Christmas, each year beginning on December 17 Romans honored Saturn, the ancient god of agriculture, in a festival called Saturnalia. This festival lasted for seven days and included the winter solstice, which usually occurred around December 25 on the ancient Julian calendar. During Saturnalia the Romans feasted, postponed all business and warfare, exchanged gifts, and temporarily freed their slaves. Many Romans also celebrated the lengthening of daylight following the winter solstice by participating in rituals to glorify Mithra, the ancient Persian god of light (see Mithraism). These and other winter festivities continued through January 1, the festival of Kalends, when Romans marked the day of the new moon and the first day of the month and year.

Although the Gospels describe Jesus’ birth in detail, they never mention the date, so historians do not know on what date he was born. The Roman Catholic Church chose December 25 as the day for the Feast of the Nativity in order to give Christian meaning to existing pagan rituals. For example, the Church replaced festivities honoring the birth of Mithra, the god of light, with festivities to commemorate the birth of Jesus, whom the Bible calls the light of the world. The Catholic Church hoped to draw pagans into its religion by allowing them to continue their revelry while simultaneously honoring the birthday of Jesus. The Eastern Orthodox Church took a slightly different course. By the end of the 4th century the Eastern Church in Constantinople had also begun to acknowledge December 25 as Jesus’ birthday, but it emphasized the celebration of Christ’s baptism on January 6 as the more important holiday.

Over the next 1000 years, the observance of Christmas followed the expansion of Christianity into the rest of Europe and into Egypt . Along the way, Christian beliefs combined with existing pagan feasts and winter rituals to create many long-standing traditions of Christmas celebrations. For example, ancient Europeans believed that the mistletoe plant held magic powers to bestow life and fertility, to bring about peace, and to protect against disease. Northern Europeans associated the plant with the Norse goddess of love, Freya, and developed the custom of kissing underneath mistletoe branches. Christians incorporated this custom into their Christmas celebrations, and kissing under a mistletoe branch eventually became a part of secular Christmas tradition.

During the Reformation of the 16th century, Protestants challenged the authority of the Catholic Church, including its toleration of surviving pagan traditions during Christmas festivities. For a brief time during the 17th century, Puritans banned Christmas in England and in some English colonies in North America because they felt it had become a season best known for gambling, flamboyant public behavior, and overindulgence in food and drink.

Europeans who settled in North America often found they had to change their Christmas celebrations because they could not faithfully recreate the traditions of their homelands. For example, colonists in the American South may have aspired to recreate a sense of the English Christmas. But colonial accounts of Christmas celebrations in the South do not mention the presence of mummers (masked or costumed merrymakers) or waits (musicians or carolers paid to perform at Christmastime), both of which were central figures of the traditional English Christmas. Nor do historical accounts describe settlers engaging in such traditional English customs as feasting on boars’ heads or drinking from wassail bowls (bowls filled with spiced ale or wine).

Colonists from England , France , Holland , Spain , and other countries also gradually modified their Christmas ceremonies as they encountered new cultures and traditions in the New World . For example, in large towns, where diverse groups lived close together, the common ground for celebration could often be found in public and secular festivities rather than in potentially divisive religious ceremonies. Thus, at least in New York City , the winter’s holidays often culminated on New Year’s, not Christmas.

JESUS IN UNAMBIGUOUS TERMS SAID THAT HE WAS A PROPHET JUST LIKE ELIJAH & ELISHA

1.      Christendom, for now, is confused! The doctrine of ‘Holy Trinity’ is demonic and very idolatrous in respect of equating Jesus with the Creator!

2.      It violates the first three commandments Moses received on Mount Sinai!

3.      A pagan emperor deified him in order to marry a Christian lady centuries ago and to date Christians join him in the idolatry of trying to set Jesus up against his father!

4.      Jesus never called himself the ‘Son of God’ rather he always insisted on ‘Son of Man’ all through the gospel narratives. Both ‘Jesus’ and ‘Christ’ are Greek words, not the Aramaic names the angel gave him!

5.      There is not one place ‘Jesus Christ’ is used as a double-barrelled name for Jesus in all the original texts of King James Version of the Christian Bible!

6.      Saul of Tarsus always referred to him thus: ‘Christ Jesus’. Why? ‘Christ’ is a title he earned for total obedience till death on the cross, “for which reason he was given a name above all names so that at the mention of the name every knee shall bow”.

7.      ‘Prof. Kenez’ is not the same thing as ‘Kenez Prof.’ Think about this for a while! Pope Paul is not same as Paul Pope. Or is it?

8.      Adam was definitely the ‘Son of God’, and only he could rightly claim it!

9.      God re-named Solomon ‘Jedidah’ and only he could also claim the title!

10.  But for Jesus, he was never a god nor was he equal to ‘God, the Almighty Father’ as many misinformed Christians portray in the fanatical prayers and commercial lyrics of worship songs marketed today!

THERE IS NO NEED TO DEIFY ONE WHO

CONSISTENTLY STATED THAT HE WAS;

·  “Son of Man”; that was mentioned 194 times  in both the OT and NT as against “Son of God” mentioned only 47 times, with Jesus referring to himself 48 times in the gospels) and

· “A Prophet” as he stated in Matt 10:40-41, "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives Him who sent me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward”.

· It beats my reasoning faculties when religious fanatics are blindly followed just because they call themselves pastors, evangelists, priests or bishops.

· Paul, the Apostle of the Gentiles, never referred to Jesus as co-equal to God, the Creator and Father of all human beings! He never reversed the order he always used to refer to him; Christ Jesus.

· In all the four gospels in original King James Version, there was not a single use of Jesus with any other attachment or appellation; only Jesus! Moreover, the word ‘JESUS’ is Greek, not the Aramaic name the angel gave him!

· No, it was some Roman theologians who contrived their own gospel and appended; ‘St John’ to their treacherous narrative that deified Jesus. They doctored the entire NT to reflect their false doctrines and dogmas. Nowhere in the four gospels was Jesus ever addressed as “Christ”.

The “Saviour” or “Messiah” was a title he earned since his predecessors failed to achieve the status. This he achieved by total obedience to the Will of the Almighty, whereas others fumbled!

· Moses was a saviour for the enslaved Israelites in Egypt, but he struck the rock twice instead of once and so failed.

· Samson was a saviour for the Israelites maltreated by the Philistines, but despite his anointing from the womb, he permitted Delilah to lead him astray.

· Solomon was a saviour king chosen by God to build him a temple and restore peace in Israel, but despite the enormous wisdom bestowed on him for the assignment; he became an easy prey for the Queen of Sheba!

However, Jesus earned the coveted title due to his compliance with the Will of the Almighty Father; Matt 7:21; 21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. and total obedience to His dictates; Matt 12:50; 50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother;"  all through his ministry to merit the elevation to a salvific prophet, the Messiah of his people promised from the time of Abraham. He defeated the devil and so he excelled where others had failed.

Matt 4:1-11; 4:1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. …. 3 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." …. 5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. 7 Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"  8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendour. 9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."  10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'"  11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

By citing only Elijah and Elisha, 24 "I tell you the truth," he continued, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown. …. 26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon. 27 And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed-only Naaman the Syrian;"

Jesus was emphatically declaring that only three of them came closest to the demands of ultimate elevation to “Christhood”! What he forgot to tell us or that he deliberately left to tell us was; what he did others failed to do properly, why he had the will power to say no to the devil all through his ministry and how he grabbed the title whereas others did not!

He meticulously studied the Laws, the Prophets and digested all the books on Judaism; Matt 5:17-18; 17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”

From age twelve to thirty, which was missing in all his biographies, he lived a monastic life outside his community! On graduation and return to his native land, he allowed John to baptise him in the River Jordan, where he was anointed as “Son of God”; Matt 3:17-4:1; 17 And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."  Here, he was adopted as a perfect master to redeem Israel. Dry fasting for forty days and nights preceded his ministry. He practised as an itinerant preacher and by the dint of hard labour and loyalty to the Omnipotent and Omniscient God we all worship as the Creator of the Universe, he attained the ultimate in Messiahship and became the “Christ”!

My thesis is that Jesus, the Christ, achieved the climax of stewardship by a detailed observance of all the details that were foretold about the Messiah!

26 Yet Elijah was not sent to any of them, but to a widow in Zarephath in the region of Sidon.

 27 And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed-only Naaman the Syrian."

28 All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this.

29 They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him down the cliff.

30 But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way.

31 Then he went down to Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath began to teach the people. 32 They were amazed at his teaching, because his message had authority.
